Jay Fox at the UBC Neurological Tapestries. The talented tappissier suffered a neurological stroke during the weaving of one of the tapestries on exhibit, above the beautiful one behind Jay. This resulted in the right half of the tapestry showing imperfections that are readily apparent, but not to the tappissier who could not see the difference between the left and right halves. Hence, several faces are twisted, their eyes are like those of a doll, the legs are buckled, and the trees are different juxtaposed near the border, which is haphazard... a textbook of neurology. On display at the Woodward Medical Library, UBC (JAMA 218, 1039, 1971). |
